The Event was conceived in 1996 with an idea to
provide a platform to the Indian Minerals, Metals & Metallurgy
Industry to showcase its mettle to the world at large. The Event in
1996 was a resounding success and encouraged the Indian Institute of
Metals to sponsor the event every alternate year. The Event has been
successfully held in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004 at Pragati
Maidan, New Delhi and has gained wide spread recognition as
an institutionalized biennial international event.
The event has been developed by IIM, Delhi Chapter with active
support from National Council, for the industry & by the
industry. And with a view that the capability of the industry
in these sectors gets projected and the interaction at the forum is
beneficial to the industry from India and across the world, by
sharing of the expertise, thoughts & experiences.

India, the world’s fifth largest industry - Minerals, Metals,
Metallurgy and Materials sectors offer unprecedented
opportunities in the areas of technology Up- gradation, new
investments, trade promotion and employment generation.
MMMM 2006 is all set to showcase emerging technologies available
worldwide as also to promote business interest relating
to market trends that enable the industry to remain competitive.
